WPSL Concussion Policies

Concussions have garnered a lot of media attention lately, and rightly so. Last month, American goalkeeping legend Briana Scurry sat on a panel with several other experts at the NSCAA Convention to discuss Concussions in Soccer. Then, Dr. Wendy LeBolt penned a response over at Soccer Wire, calling for action from coaches, parents and players alike to prevent and manage injury.

The WPSL mandates the implementation of a league-wide policy to deal with possible concussions sustained by its players during training and match play. The goal of the policy is not only to educate, but also to enforce consistent standards that ensure the continued safety of our players and their futures, both on and off the soccer field.
