San Diego SeaLions Top U.S. U18 WNT In Friendly

Completing their final training camp of 2013, the U.S. U18 Women's National Team took to the pitch on Friday to face defending Women's Premier Soccer League champion San Diego SeaLions.  U.S. U18 WNT Head Coach April Heinrichs held a week-long training camp at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA for the second time this year, their fifth camp of 2013.  The friendly against the SeaLions marked the end of a positive year for the squad, some of whom hope to be a part of the 2014 U20 WNT that compete in the FIFA U20 World Cup in August.

San Diego wrapped up a magnificent season after winning the WPSL title this summer.  The SeaLions (9-1-0) were dominant in league play, where they did not lose all season, outscoring opponents 33-11.  The victory over the Houston Aces in late July crowned San Diego champion for the second time, their first since 2000.
